Study history of Taiwan railway
Warehouse is turned to museum like miniature wonderland in Hamburg. This museum explain history of railway more detail. I feel respectability to Japanese cooperation and lave for railway and real history. Railway was very important for increasing economy and modernization for Taiwan. Huge model train express Taiwan and some stations are made very real. In addition here is indoor activity and good for rest during sight seeing under hot weather.

Two parts - see them both
The railway museum comes in two parts. There is a large open air park and station building that has some scattered locos and wagons (this is free) and there are a couple of old railway sheds with a huge diorama showing how this site and others were in older times. This part has an entry fee and you can also pay to ride a little train around the grounds. I especially like the station area of Chaiyi in the diorama. The outside exhibits are suffering under the weather.

Hidden Gem of an Attraction
Museum of Taiwan Railways is in an old converted warehouse on the other side of the Takao museum and railway yard. It contains the largest collection of model railways, complete with lighting, and fully landscaped we have ever seen. It has interactive exhibits, a full-size cut-away model of a steam locomotive, and a small electric train for children. On the second floor is a big private collection of model trains from all over the world. Unlike many popular, overcrowded, attractions we were pretty much the only visitors there during that time.
