Must visit!
Ghibli Museum is a must visit for all Ghibli fans! A warning though; the tickets were incredibly hard to get. We got ready at 9am on the 10th of the previous month in front of 6 computers to try. The moment the clock struck 9, the system went down immediately as it could not support the volume of traffic on the site (and i heard this happens every month). So, if you are able to get the tickets, you definitely need to make time to go. We arrived 15 minutes before our entry time and there was already a long but orderly queue outside. Once you got into the museum, you will be given a ticket for entry to a short movie and also reminded that no photography is allowed inside the museum. We were very excited to see the different sections of the museums, the storyboards of the movies, how animation works, the history, the scripts and scribbles. The short movie was very entertaining and the cat bus playground was great for kids although they were limited to only 5 minutes play. We also went to the roof garden and took a bunch of photos with the robot from Laputa because that was the only place we were allowed cameras. We enjoyed it very much and were super glad we went. RECOMMENDED!

Ticket for tourist is possible :)
Just writing about the ticket : do not trust what people say. I am a tourist and it was ok to buy them! Yes, you have to be online at the time the tickets open and be quite qick otherwise it is like buying ticket for a famous concert. (Check on the official website before for information, all in english and you will have one ticket for 7 usd) You can put a foreigner phone number and a Visa credit card. Just done it, IT IS POSSIBLE! I will update my comment in a few days when I go to visit the museum :)
