Astrid Lindgrens Childhood Home, Kalmar County, Sweden

Inspiring place to visit!

As a writer of books for children, I try to visit Astrid Lindgrens Näs each year. The place is wonderful. You can see the one and only lemonadetree there, visit wonderful exhibitions, eat great food and experience a wonderful environment where this superb author, my greatest example, once lived. You can meet relatives of Astrid Lindgren, buy books and other fantastic stuff ... Can't wait to go back. Each time, I try to do some writing there too. There's no better place for it! You can visit Näs free. For some exhibitions, there is a fee.

Fantastic visit and inspiration for future reading
This was a truly fantastic place. Very nice and well made exhibition/entrance. Nice, welcoming staff. Great exhibition with headset with different languages. Very good guided tour to Astrids' childhoold home. Quite touching. Great food at decent prices and finally a wonderful garden. A visit that touched me and my 11 year old daughter deeply and an inspiration for future readings ??

Great museum giving a deeper view of Astrid Lindgrens life and doings
There are at least three reasons to visit this museum if you are interested in learning more about Astrid Lindgren. 1. The exhibition about her life is truly wonderful. With an audio guide you are guided through Astrids life. You learn what inspired her to write the great stories, her struggles in life and her political influence in Sweden's history. 2. The surroundings, the park and the house where Astrid lived as a kid. 3. It is kids friendly! There is a kids version of the audio guide (our 6 year old loved it) and a nice playground outside.
