Amazing experience ion Klotok boat with Jenie Subaru
We chose Jennie Subaru to help set up a 3D/2N houseboat tour for our family and it proved to be the right choice! Jenie is a very reliable and long running guide who owns a few boats with himself and the entire family works together and goes all the way to make this a very special experience. We are a family of 4 with two children of 12 and 15 and our local guide Dani (Jenie’s cousin) found the perfect balance of guiding us around the incredible world of the Orang Utahns and letting us relax on the boat. We would totally recommend Jenie’s organisation, especially since by choosing him you also contribute to the local community. In addition to organizing the tours, Jenie is making a huge effort to invest in buying land along the Park’s border to support the very needed protection of the Orang-Utan’s habitat. @jenie - we wish you all the best for the future! Stunning experience! Super nice boat! Friendly staff!
Tanjung Puting is a stunning place where you can see orangutans in their natural habitat through a very romantic cruise setting! Pangkalan Bun is easily reachable by air, and the tour basically starts upon your arrival at the airport and also ends here to catch a flight to the next destination. Because of these perfect ingredients, it is no surprise that in high season there are many other visitors and – as long as you know about this – it is still absolutely a life changing experience to visit this place asap as soon I’m sure it cannot be affordable anymore for the laymen. Personally, I had a small budget but at the same time I didn’t want to risk taking a too cheap tour as I wanted to be sure that for the distance I travelled I would get great value for money. For this reason I booked with local-guides because they are praised for using experienced guides, using comfortable boats and preparing delicious food, and all that for a very good price compared to the alternatives I found. Sal from Local Guides was our hero as we planned our holiday as we asked a tons of questions. Our guide Kris was perfect! Very knowledgable and super fun person, and at the same time he really valued our privacy and had a very strong sense when to leave us alone. We saw so many orangutans and everything was perfect. Time has flown too fast. Sleeping on the boat is a wonderful experience and not even an insect during the night. Good food and so much! Absolutely stunning!
