Though it is closed on public holidays, I still enjoy the garden behind the museum and the miniature around. They are great!! I really hope the state government can keep the museum well.

Could have been better
It's a little frustrating to see how the state's rich history and culture are not maximized in its introduction and preservation at this museum. Clearly there's a lack of management from the staff and you can tell from the place that's not being maintained well. There's trash on the ground, floors are dirty and doors that are broken. The artifacts, items and description are adequate and possess high value to visitors. Hopefully in the future the museum can be "upgraded" to attract more visitors to learn about the rich culture and beauty of Kalimantan Barat.

one of our cultural destination visit
we visited this museum on Saturday afternoon after our lunch; when we arrived and got off from the bus , we read that the museum closed at 14.00 and the ticket booth was closed also. after waiting a while came our tour guide with the 2 officers from museum opening the entrance doors for us. actually it is quite interesting museum even though you can compare it with the museum in europe, since the entrance ticket also is very cheap and the display and the lighting have to be improved , besides the air conditioners. the building is not an old building, the collection is not all authentic , but you may enjoy some thing and appreciate the local government for the best effort. Bravo Pontianak , if you have spare time , just spend it here.
