Best place to see wolves in Finland

Stayed here one night in a hide at place called paradise. It's a swamp.... they do have other places also. This is the best place in Finland to see wolves, and that's why we came here. We saw three different wolves, on many occasions and for a long time. Great photo opportunities. Saw also a bear, wolverines, golden eagle and a eurasian hobby. Would recommend this place, especially for seeing wolves.

    Unforgettable experience
Our group of six spent two nights in Kuikka's cabin, the second one in a photo booth. We saw a lot of wolves and one wolverine as well as sea eagle couple. The bear didn’t show up this time (a couple of nights earlier, the bear had been there) We left from the base camp at 5pm with our own cars and returned from there the next morning at 8am. The experience was an unforgettable. We spent the previous night at Kuikka's cabin, which is located by the lake. On the evening of our arrival we had a smoke sauna experience for an additional fee. At Base Camp, accommodation would have included a nice beach sauna by the lake. The Base Camp is well equipped. There is a washing machine and drying cabinets in Kuikka's cabin, which is quite handy if you spend several nights, and our accommodation also had a refrigerator. Wi-fi worked well. We had also bought dinner for both days, and we had delicious Finnish food. The breakfasts were also very good. The people, Raita, Antti and Seppo, were really friendly and helpful, and we really felt welcome. I warmly recommend Kuikka's cabin and Wildlife Safaris bear-wolf-wolverine -safaris. Tip: if you do not have professional camera equipment yourself, you can also rent one from Kuikka's cabin. On a hot summer night, you should bring plenty of water with you. It is also good to have plenty to eat. Our 8 person booth had a bed for each. Quite often in Finland also in summer the temperature drops at night time so you have to bring a sleeping bag and warm clothes. We didn't need them, though since the night was exceptionally warm. Instead, extra dry clothing was necessary. For my opinion prices are ok - our safari was 190 €/person, previous nights accommodation with breakfast was around 50 €/person/night. Smoke sauna experience was 150 euros for six of us.

A great nature and wildlife experience, in Europe!
I have spent 4 fantastic days with Articmedia in July 2013 and the overall experience was fantastic! This is the place where everything started in Finland with bear watching and photography (many years ago). So you get the opportunity to go to 4 different places (whcih I did since I had 4 nights here) and be for the night in a specially designed photographic hide (you can be alone in some or more in others). Every place brings different opportunities (and this probably change along with different seasons as does the forest). In 4 nights I have been able to see many bears, 3 wolves and 2 wolverines and that was a thrilling experience for a wildlife lover and photographer like me. The hides are very well designed and you can use long tele-lens (400mm, 500mm or 600mm) in very steady and comfortable conditions. Besides the hide, there is a base camp in Kuikka. This is a very nice old farm that has been reconverted to cater with tourists needs. I found it very good to relax and sleep after the short night in the hide (in July there is barely 3 to 4 hours darkness and bears and wolverines got really active at night during my stay so kind of get tired afterwards). You can also enjoy a short walk around and look for some of the boreal birds living here! The food was also very good and I loved the ambiance of "unpretentious wildlife lovers" that I found here! Thanks a lot to Sami and Anu (and Lassi that I briefly saw) for my stay! I'm pretty sure I will come-back someday!
