Statue of Per (Pietari) Brahe

The statue of Per Brahe (Pietari Brahe in Finnish) is located by the market square in the heart of Kajaani. It's also close to Kajaani River. Per Brahe as Governor General of Finland founded Kajaani in 1651. The statue is very traditional but also quite cute.

    A statue of Per Brahe
Count Per Brahe the Younger (18 February 1602 – 12 September 1680) was a Swedish soldier, statesman, and author. He served as Privy Councillor from 1630, Lord High Steward from 1640, as well as Governor General of Finland in 1637–1640 and 1648–1654. During his time as Governor General of Finland, he made large administrative reforms, introduced a postal system, improved and developed commerce and agriculture, and promoted education. He was the founder of Royal Academy of Turku and the town of Kaajani , along with ten other new towns in Finland and improved the fortress Kajaneborg, so now they have a statue of him in Kajaani.

    Just a statue
This is just a statue, nothing special and no information about Per Brahe near it. I don't know if he was that short in person, or if the statue is just oddly proportioned.
