Perfect way to see lake Oulunjärvi
I had my birthday on board with my relatives. I'm originally from Kajaani and wanted something nice for my birthday when visiting there on my birthday. I think this is the nicest thing you can do there, actually :)

One day trip to paradise island Ärjä, lake Oulujärvi
I took a cruise on the steam boat Kouta from Kajaani to island called Ärjä. The boat is really old and fascinating, the lake view is beautiful and the island is a paradise. I couldn't imagine that kind of natural sand beaches to exist here. We had a salmon soup, coffee, pie and beer on the boat. The boat cruise took 2 hours one way. At the island we had a nice walk, went to swimming and bought donuts at the summer cafe. Lovely activity for a day off!
