Very interesting museum about life in the coal camp. It's an on site museum that lets you walk around outside and see some of the equipment used and inside the tiny houses were the workers lived. The entrance fee is like 7 dollars or 40 kr. If you really want to get something out of your visit: book a guide! It's around 75$ or 500kr for a two hours tour, including a drive around the area. Well worth it! You can buy the odd sweet but if you plan on spending a day in the area, bring food and drinks. Clean toilet facilities.

Great historical museeum in Søby close to Herning
This is a museeum showing the history of the workers breaking lignite in this area. You will see houses from that time, machines and other historical items. You can have a tour around with a guide at the museeum and around the lakes which matured from breaking the lignite (Brown coal). Expect 2-2½hours including the time for driving around this spectacular and dangerous nature area.

    History close
When visiting Søby Brunkulslejr, you might even meet people, that have been part of this history. All the exhibition is carried together by people who have lived here, whilst this place was a kind of 'gold-rush-city'. The feeling og being able to earn a quick dollar has been the same here as in Alaska. I love the authentic feeling this museum can provide.
