Lalandia, Jutland, Denmark

4.0 (591 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in South Jutland Water Parks

Very good family holiday location

We spent 4 days here with two small kids and were able to keep them perfectly well entertained for the whole time. It is not without its faults and some aspects of it were perhaps a little underwhelming but it is certainly well worth a visit, particularly during the winter when the weather outside is only attractive to ducks. I can imagine that during the summer this might well be oppressively busy.

Great place - do book your own stuff.
We had a great time travelling with 8 and 4 year olds. The inside of lalandia now looks a little dated and appears to be closer to a leisure centre than a holiday water park. The lodges are clean and tidy and make for a pleasant stay. The blinds in the lodge aren’t very good at blocking light so if you need your toddlers/children to sleep in darkness take some blackout blinds. We had a street light outside the lodge which didn’t help. The lodges are well equipped and very good at staying warm. The aquadome: The water Slides were great in terms of variety and range for children of various height. The wave pool is definitely the best we have been to. The lazy ring river will make your feet sore if you don’t use the rings. They don’t have family changing facilities so men and women over the age of 6 have to be separated. We weren’t allowed to bring our own food into the aquadome despite having purchased the food from the Lalandia supermarket, so if you plan on spending the day their you have to eat from the limited and pricey menu at the food court. They had some salads and the usual burgers and chips. The weekends are much busier as people from across the country arrive for a day trip. The food in the supermarket can be expensive as it’s a captive market unless you hire a car. Portion sizes at restaurants are large compared with the UK sizes. We were very surprised about the amount of people allowed into the water park at the weekends given social distancing rules. It was hard to socially distance at all in most of the pools and slides on the weekends. Occasionally the staff would walk around and evict people from over crowded pools. I am glad that we weren’t there at peak season. Ultimately it was a great trip but the ultimate let down was that service centre failing to book a taxi for us, despite assuring us that they would, to pick us up from the lodge to the airport. We had a mad scramble and had to walk with children and luggage back to the main building and then on past Legoland taxi rank until a cab firm finally picked up the phone. The emergency line on the lalandia service centre couldn’t help us insisting it was not an emergency and could only help with lodges. Normally this would be manageable but coupled with the stress of potentially missing our flights and with two young children in tow, left us feeling underwhelmed by the lalandia service centre and hence we gave a lower score. We will be complaining directly to Lalandia about this to find out what happened and will update the review based on their response.
