Dollerup bakker is a wonderful area; the lake, the forrest, the heather and hills form a beautiful scenery. To Danes, Dutchmen an the like, the landscape may even be described as impressive ;-) On the north side of the lake is the manor "Hald Hovedgård". The manor-garden is rather simple but it's open to the public and through the garden you can reach the lake, where a path leads to the remains of a fortified castle built by the last catholic bishop of Viborg, Jørgen Friis (1494-1547). In the western end of the lake there is a small grass clad peninsular where a precursor of the ruined castle of Jørgen Friis and the present day manor once stood. It's a great place to bring a picnic basket :-)

Peaceful
Wonderful place to go for long or short walks all year round. The views are pretty and you can take your dog. Most of the paths are ok for prams and wheelchair though some are too bumpy.
