Beware of mosquitoes...
I was told that this was the best silk museum in China so I decided to pay it a visit. I had trouble enjoying the museum though.... as soon as I entered the room where you get to see the silk worms and the mulberry, I was attacked by mosquitoes! I have always been sensitive to mosquito bites so I rushed straight back into the hall. In the 5 minutes that I was outside with the silk worms and mulberry, I received 20 mosquito bites (17 on my legs and 3 on my arm). By the time we left the museum, my legs were swollen and it hurt to walk. My friend on the otherhand did not get a single bite... Keeping an open mind, I do find the museum quite educational. We even got to watch people weave the silk. The museum is quite small though since the gift shop seems to take up a large amount of space. I would NOT recommend this place for those of you who are mosquito magnets.

They sold me
After an explanation of how silk is obtained and utilized, you enter the show room for purchasing products. The pressure is very low if you don't engage the salespeople, so if you don't want to buy just keep moving. I wanted a comforter before we ever got there so I made a purchase....or two.
