    Mahogany Boat Cruise
Sozhou has canals and boats of many sizes and the Grand Canal has mahogany boats big enough to carry 50 people comfortably. You cruise for an hour or two along a beautiful section of the big canal lined with a beautiful walking path, dotted with restaurants. Your boat floats under one grand old archway after another. It's very popular at night and it's too crowded during National Holidays but you won't have to wait in a long line at other times.

    Heritage Canal
We came by metro and took a short walk to the visit the grand canal. There were many smaller tributaries around this canal. You can take boat rides to slowly enjoy the area or you can walk. We walked and it was quite enjoyable. Congested with tourists though, like most tourist sites in China.
