Go early.

We arrived at 2:30pm on Tuesday 8/04/2020. No more tickets available. This is probably due to Covid-19. We got in on Wednesday by showing up at 9:30am. Americans need their passport and their health code (suikang) to get in.

    Worth Visiting
The presidential palace of Nanjing is very different from that of Taibei. This one is very spacious and worth staying a couple of hours. It seems that the palace is more popular among Chinese people than foreigners, but it is still one of the best tourist attractions for anybody in Nanjing.

    Unexpected pleasure
I was surprised to discover that this place is reminiscent of the Forbidden City in Beijing as well as having historical buildings from the 20th century. I was also surprised at how crowded it was, even on a very rainy day in March. We spent a couple of hours here and would have stayed longer if we hadn't been so damp, bedraggled and cold. Well worth a visit, and particularly so to learn about the birth of the Republic of China and the period before the People's Republic came into being.
