Bamazing!
I rode my Bambike to the museum and was happy to find a nice covered and solar powered bike rack. The gardens around the place are bambeautiful, full of many species of bamboo. The museum showcases many of the uses of bamboo and is fascinating.

Bamboo museum
Opens one's eyes to the mystery of Bamboo and its uses and development over the last few centuries. Seeing the transition from old to modern uses is quite amazing with the typical innovative Korean design. Not a long tour however not all the signage is English but visual is self explanatory.

Only in Korean but nice park
We went to the museum by bus from Gwangju, it took about half an hour (we had a the name in Korean on a paper and the driver told us when to get off, afterwards it's only a 5 minutes walk). It was a hot and humid weekday so there were no other people there. The museum is quite new, fee is only 1,000 KRW but unfortunately it was only in Korean so we were not able to read anything. It mainly had items on display that were made out of bamboo, not much on how bamboo is processed and no interactive parts. The surroundings of the museum are nice, a bamboo park, a small lake and a greenhouse. It's surely nice to stroll around in spring/fall. There was a café where you should be able experience a traditional tea ceremony but we did not try it as the lady did not speak english. You can also buy bamboo products.
