Once in a life time experience

Recommended to come here by my guide. Took a Jeep from the village to the beach which cost us 350k IRP. The view was just breathtaking with the treacherous wave and rugged landscape. We chose the gondola ride, and one really had to ignore the safety aspect. It was a hair-raising ride, with the crushing wave chasing behind the gondola. Adrenaline filled to the max! The view from the other end was even more breathtaking! We were slightly upset that we weren’t told the Jeep ride did not include the price for the gondola, which cost additional 200k IRP per pax or the bridge which cost additional 100kIRP. Apart from that, it was an experience of a life time!

    Memorable! Exciting! Crazy!YOLO!
Listed as one of the top 10 things to do when you visit Yogyarkarta. Pulau Timang is about 1 1/2 to 2 hr hour scenic drive from Baron Beach area. Our adventure begins from the start of our drive - passing by several popular, beautiful beaches and then towards the last 45 mins of the journey, the road seem to have disappeared from the map and we hit a very remote area with no proper road leading to the beach. It was crazily rocky and the ride - bumpy all the way. We prayed both the suspension and tyres of our 10 seater and the Toyota Avanza would make it through without puncture. If there was a breakdown, we would be stranded for hours. There are fishermen's villages nearby but depending on which part of the bumpy stretch, you could be stuck in the middle of nowhere. This part of the journey was a big highlight in itself. "We made it! We are safe!" Forget about the return journey for now, the view that greeted us was simply out of this world. Weather was perfect. Superbly blue skies, the roar of the ocean... I guess the remoteness of this beach plus the wooden cable chair suspended on air by fishermen's ropes, knots and pulleys above rough seas with absolutely no safety gear nor any safety precaution whatsoever, that really pumped up the adrenalin rush. Out of the 17 people in our group of 3 men, 4 women, 3 teens and the rest young children, only 2 moms and their young children ( age 11 to 5 ) took the ride. We accompanied our young child in the chair lift of course. The ride across the wild seas that looked like it was waiting to swallow us up took under a minute. Crazy? Totally!! Would I do it again? After you, sir. I'd bask myself in the sun at the nearby deserted beach. Soft sand, big waves, shady mangrove trees. Other information/highlights:- 1. We searched the net and got the contact number of the fishermen. We checked availability and made prior bookings. 2. We also booked lobster lunch complete with traditional fisherman's homecooked meal. We went into their kitchen, saw them clean and boil the lobster, sat on the floor and had lunch cross legged. There you go, another challenge. 3. After Pulau Timang, we visited Pantai Sepanjang.... oh wow! and onward to D'omah Hotel Yogya .... and the wow! factor continues.....
