beautiful segara anakan sempu island
Sempu island actually is national park, you will trek inside the jungle before reach Segara anakan. before trekking inside, you will take the boat. You need to pay for entrance fee and the boat, also they prepare a guide for you and shoes for rent. I suggest to have a guide with you because there was some people lost in the jungle when they travelled alone. And the shoes, it was a great one, it won't get inside the mud :) I never expected the trekking road from Sendang biru to Segara Anakan so easy but not this hard either. For me It was really hard. Some people I met had an accident. So be very careful when you trekking inside the jungle. Just bring, some necessary belonging, unless you will get tired trekking and bringing your belonging. It tooks 1.5 for me to get to segara anakan. That was a huge effort to get there, but don't push yourself to hard, you can rest. And please don't go in rainy season, because the trekking road will be mud, it will hard to just walk. When you reached the segara anakan, you'll get paid for the hard effort when you were in jungle. If you have time, it is better to spent at least one night in the island, but there is no bathroom, no guest house, just raised a tent. Return in the next day, so you will not get very tired for just for trekking. but please don't leave anything in the island but footprint, and don't take anything but photos ;)

This place like from the movie 'the beach'!!!
I've been to this place more than 10 times! so trust me! This place takes 3 hours from Malang city, the best one if you are alone please use motorbike. With big group more than 5 people get your car or taxi, bus take ages to get there! Get document permit to entrance the island with the ranger, tell them that you love nature and promise that you will not gonna leave some trash there. Of course you have to pay for the permit, it doesn't say with some amount just donation. Rent boat to accros the island, big group max 10 people for the boat, the last one was 100.000/$10/ boat, so 10.000/$1 each. You still have to treking around 1hour to get to the lagoon. The best session from june-september, don't ever try to go on rainy session!!! All the soil gonna be so sticky and become like a mud (30-40cm). You will spend more than 4-5hours,loosing your shoes, get wet, slipery, dirty, or you will never make it (spend your night at jungle with mosquitos and monkey around you). Yea, thats right! I like monkey but without stilling my food! :p Take fishing role and snorkeling stuff, and tent to spend few days there, you can buy food, snack, and botle of water near from ranger office.
