Excellent tour, a highlight of our trip
We had such an amazing experience at the museum. Our tour guide was deeply knowledgeable about everything in the museum, the history of batik, the family that owns the museum, and was able to answer every question we asked. There were so many pieces to view, and it is nice how they are not behind glass. You can really get up close and see the details in the pieces. We were not rushed through any part of the tour, and we were able to see everything at our own pace. That was really nice because we spent over an hour there. Highly recommended. Keep in mind you are not able to take any photos inside the museum. I also recommend watching a few videos about batik before visiting if you do not know what it is or how it is made.

    Great Collections and Stories
To enter this museum we must buy entrance ticket Rp 35.000,- for adult. I visited this museum with my wife. There was a guide accompanied us and explain everything about the collection, the stories behind and how to make batik. The collection was really amazing. Some of them were very old. There were batiks from all tribe in Java and even some which have been influenced by other country's culture. There was a workshop with a lady who was making batik and we can take picture there. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take picture inside the museum.
