Early morning at Kota Tua
It's a good photo spots in Jakarta. Before pandemic, I visited there once and it's beautiful. Many living activities there. During the pandemic, everything is quiet. I found Fatahilah Square has another beauty in early morning. It was peaceful, nice weather and beautiful daybreak. We can walk along the Bank Museum to the river and enjoy nice view as well.

Fascinating History and Dutch colonial vestiges
This delightful square brings the name of Fatahillah, the Muslim conqueror in 1527 of the former Hindu kingdom of Sunda Kelapa. However, this an area to recall former Batavia, built by the Dutch and their famous capitalist trade Company, VOC. It is indeed one of the rare opportunities in modern Jakarta to appreciate old Dutch colonial buildings with that typical Calvinist capitalist mindset: the buildings are cramped with a tight façade, but very long since taxes were based in measuring the width of the houses. The central building, the former municipal colonial powerhouse, is nowadays a museum of the History of Jakarta. It is an exciting museum, very informative, but lacks a modern reorganization.
