Breathtaking view early morning from dal lake when it is not crowded
We went to dal lkae twice. Once was during afternoon when it was very crowded. Then we went again at 5.30 am in the morning and had the entire lake to ourselves. Dal lake is breathtaking at sunrise and i would highly recommend an early morning visit there to avoid all the crowd. View the sunrise!

Unbelievable experience
Today is my one of the best day of my life that place which I have only seen in movies. I have personally experienced, and it was mesmerizing to be honest with you the view from the lake was outstanding, the entire Himalayas covered with ice was amazing. Actually, it’s very difficult to describe experience all together. The average rate of Shikara boat is something Rs.2500. For all the areas especially local markets, and Mina bazaar. When you start your journey from the jetty the local floating shop will approach you and they will sell many things which is good also and you can buy it with a genuine rate you can bargain as well. You can take it as a souvenir or a gift to your friends and family. We spent a Prox Rs.10,000 for the entire experience during our boat ride. However, we have bought a lot of things for our friends and family. Food is pretty expensive but that’s completely fine once in a while in the experience. Please do visit and support our Indian tourism.

Must Visit But Nothing Out of the World !
This was our first visit to Kashmir and we started from this world famous Dal Lake. We visited Dal Lake during the evening hours to enjoy the Sunset. Our driver dropped us at Ghat No 13 and that is where you have the only public car parking on Dal Lake. The moment we entered the Ghat, the shikara owners started offering different tours with exorbitant prices. They have a government issued price list and it is 700 INR per hour but don't even think about going according to this government rates. They will agree to it and will move the shikara so slowly that you will hardly cover only couple of meters of distance in one hour. Instead, offer them some extra bucks on top of the government rates and they will happily take you to a nice tour of the lake. There are several points as per the shikara owners, like Mission Kashmir point, Floating market but we enjoyed the overall landscape and views when the shikara was in the middle of the lake. Don't even think about shopping from floating market, most of the items are fake and they charge exorbitant amounts. You can also enjoy tikkas, ice-cream and some beverages while riding as lot of locals are selling stuff in shikaras. Overall a great experience and you should definitely do this once while visiting Kashmir !
