One of the best parts of our trip!

Rhythms of the Night offers a 5-hour extravaganza, which starts with a sunset boat ride—complete with an open bar and canapés—across the bay. Sail to Caletas Beach, a secluded cove illuminated by candlelight and tiki torches, with bongo drums playing in the background. You’ll then be treated to a mesmerizing show of acrobatics, dance, storytelling, fire dancing, and more. Written and directed by the co-creator of Cirque Du Soleil, the show is inspired by Aztec legend, with a story that changes every year. If you’d like, you can even splash out on V.I.P. tickets for front-row seating at the show. – Tripadvisor

Highly Recommend this "Mayan" version of Cirque du Soleil
My brother recommended that we do this event when we went to Puerto Vallarta and he was so right! The entire evening was wonderful. The boat trip to the event site was a big party - loud music, lots of talking, lots of drinking and even some people trying to dance. Once we arrived, we were seated for a buffet meal. The food was wonderful. The salads were particularly well done and I really liked their shrimp. Wish their food wasn't so good so that I had more room for their desserts. The waiter was very pleasant and always seemed to show up just when we needed more wine, or directions. But best of all - the show was breathtaking. It really is a Mayan version of Cirque du Soleil. The primary backdrop on the stage was a "Mayan Temple." The ringleader of the show wore a pleasantly hokey costume and was quite entertaining throughout the show. There were acrobats and people handling flaming batons and large wheels. Two different women performed on stage and aerially (one with large hoop and one attached from the top of her head). The accompanying music was perfect and the female singer had a wonderful voice. I would definitely go again. Returning to the boats to go back to the harbor was a bit chaotic, but everyone seemed to find their original boats. The ride back to the harbor had more music and dancing and the crew presented a little show of their own before we landed. Final comments - if you can afford the extra charge to be VIP, I would recommend it. You go through their security check first and board the boat first for the ride to the event (there is no order to boarding the boat on the return ride). When you arrive at the event area, VIP disembark first and are seated first in areas along the shoreline. A very pleasant view. Lastly, VIP are seated at the front of the show area and have very good views. I don't know how the weather would be in the summer, but in February, the boat ride back to Puerto Vallarta was a little chilly, so a light jacket is recommended. Last suggestion is for the ladies. The boat rides are "breezy" so I recommend slacks or shorts, or if you must, a long dress. ladies wearing dresses near the knee or shorter appeared to struggle to hold their dresses down and keep from flashing the other occupants. Or they spent their time, plastered to their seats with their skirts tightly tucked under them. Hard to move around or dance and hold onto your drink if you are also trying to keep a bit of decorum.

One of the best parts of our trip!
Rhythms of the Night was one of the coolest things we got to do in Puerto Vallarta. The show, and the jungle area where the show takes places, is beautiful and charming. We were fortunate enough to have Cesar and Boat Crew 4 take us out the show on our trip. It's about 45min-1 hr boat ride to the island with drinks, snacks, and amazing views of Banderas Bay during sunset. The crew was very lively and kept us entertained the whole way their. When you arrive, the jungle area itself is probably the coolest part of the whole experience. It looks like something out of a movie. The show itself was spectacular. It was similar in a lot of ways to other Cirque du Soleil shows I've seen in the past, but I enjoyed this one the most for the way in which they tied the characters and theme of the show to Mexican / Aztec mythology. We ended up paying $30 more per person for the VIP passes, which I recommend. You're the first to get off the boat, you get access to the best seats by the stage, and you're the first to be seated for dinner after the show. On the way home our boat crew put on a lively show that kept us awake and entertained on our way back to the city. Definitely recommend you do this when you come to Puerto Vallarta!
