This beach is an absolute must! We went twice!
You have to take a taxi to Boca then a water taxi to Animas. The water taxi should be about $5 USD per person one way. We paid $240 pesos for round trip. Off the pier, go to the resteraunt to the far right, as you face the mountains coming off the pier. Cheap margies and coronas and the gauc is excellent. We stayed here and swam all day. $60USD all day for 4 coronas, 4 margies, gauc. Cheap!

    Great hike and beach destination
Bus from PV to Boca then poke around for a bit in the village. Cross river by footbridge then follow path. Many groups following same route to Las Animas, so hard to get lost even if path not clearly marked. A bit rugged with steep, uneven stairs in places: good footwear is a must. Beautiful views throughout. Nice to arrive at Las Animas beach and a cold drink: lemonade hit the spot. Lunch at beach restaurant (Pichon, I think it was called). Great setting but forgettable food: I had shrimp tacos with the tiniest shrimp. Excellent chips and fresh tomato salsa. Check your bill: 70 peso “error” in favour of the restaurant (it happens...) AND 70 peso mysterious charge (“a service fee, but it’s optional...”: not cool, I’m sure many don’t notice and add an additional tip) on total bill of 430 pesos for two. Water taxi back to Boca. All in all, a very nice half day.
