Great location and history

Really interesting place gradually being restored by the EU. We had it to ourselves and enjoyed the walk up to the ruined church and could see how in a few years this will be a tourism trap. The signs they have put up added much to our guide book. The people left mainly for .Italy after WW2 because they did not want to live under Marshall Tito. There is an active farm and wine business very nearby and the school at the bottom is fully restored. You walk away from this toward the deserted places high up, but, suddenly a lady emerges and her modern car sweeps off to a supermarket we guess. A strange a magical place!

    Lost part of Istra
Driving through the untouched Istrian landscapes it's an exciting experience. Arriving in the village is a true return to the past, the history is felt everywhere around you. Be sure, before the tour, to read the History of Zavrsje on the board next to the church. Take a peek into every corner of collapsed houses. Don't miss the museum of wooden instruments and the old trail station "Parenzana".

    Medieval Ghost Town
I am not sure if there are any ghosts or not but it is a practically abandoned town that might have a dozen residents. It's an interesting look at the past with shells of buildings overgrown with foliage. There are very few tourists so that makes it GREAT. It might take 15 minutes to walk through this tiny town but it is good for some photo opps.
