Walk in nature
Ucka Nature Park offers a lot of nice hiking, and if you're smarter than us, you'll probably have no trouble following the signs. As for us, we definitely did have quite a bit of trouble and went on a much longer hike than we had wanted to go on. Anyway, the weather was crisp (at the end of November), the trails were empty (save for one super loud and obnoxious group, complete with screaming kids), and parking was plentiful. (Now if only we'd popped out where we had parked...)

Must do for nature lovers
We entered the national park from the Opatija site and decided to make the hike to the Vojak summit which is the highest peak. You can park at the restaurant or next to the barrier. The road after the barrier is private property and forbidden to drive there to the top as tourist. Still some people did it but you can get a fine and there is a camera. We choose the more satisfying route and walked through the forest to the top. It took around 1,5 hours and the first part was the hardest/ most steep. Path is good to follow and there are enough signs. Make sure to wear good shoes and bring enough water because it can get hot. On the top you have a beautiful 360 degree view on the whole coastline of istria, velebit, Croatian islands, Rijeka and if the weather is good even the Alps. On the top is even a souvenir shop.
