Pula Cathedral, Istria, Croatia
3.5 (155 reviews) Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #17 in Pula Churches & Cathedrals
Simple Romanesque church, but not quite a cathedral in its stature.
Somewhat simple & unadorned & whilst well maintained is overshadowed by the abundance of older historic - & more prominent - buildings. Our visit was little more than a walk-by & grab a photo. My wish was to have been able to spend more time in Pula ... so much to see & learn.

Don't expect toomuch and you will find it ok.
It's not the Cathedral in Zagreb, nor is it a small abandoned abbey which gave "birth" to Maria Teresia, but it is a quite place one can say a prayer and take 5minutes to find peace. Is it a must see? No. Is it a good to see if you are there? Yes.

Worthwhile when in Pula
A worthwhile stop when in Pula. Quite different to Italian cathedrals; not so ornate inside, but actually I really like it. It is an old Christian Basillica, so the style is quite different and it is exactly what I expected a place of worship in Croatia to be like: quite plain, yet architecturally impressive.
