Tito's private island with Zoo ... all a little tired ... but educational
A stop on our small boat cruise, mini train tour of fairly average grounds & zoo. Some interesting historical points of interest. Museum likewise not that interesting unless you have been keen on President Tito or this important era in Croatia's time line. The guide is informative & enthusiastically promotes all things Tito not surprisingly. Tito's Villa built in the 1950s we only see from a distance. 1 hour to tour grounds then time to wander through museum.

    Ok
Not a fan of dictators, but the Tito museum made him send like a nice guy (cough, cough). Enough politics, the museum is simple and nice. One thing I would recommend is that the pictures were sorted by date. You have two sides to the museum, one his life on the island then the people who visited him. What I found most interesting were the taxidermic animals. Tito was a big fan of animals and in that time world leaders brought them as gifts. The museum also had a brief view of the Dr. Who saved it from malaria. The museum is decent and with the peek. Wished they included other thing, his meals, what his staff did on the island. It's was a bit of to glorifying Tito. Wish they focused on the rest if the very rich history of the island which you heard on the tour guide. The staff was very nice and helpful.
