A must see in Istria
Before you go, get on the website, and get the number for the caretaker, Sonja, to arrange to meet, she lives at number 38, which is next to the main church. Get the hotel to ring, but her English is just good enough I think to arrange a time. We did better in French. She will go with you in the car and let you in and do some explanation. There is a small charge 20kn each, 10kn for students. The chapel is great, and again I recommend reading a little about the frescoes before you go. The dance of death, represents a picture that we all will die, kings, rich merchants etc. The other pictures are those ffom the bible, some with perspective, and for me the best is Judas kissing Jesus to betray him.

Beautiful Church but sad experience
Wonderful church. The church is closed. Need to call a phone number from the window. When we arrived a very grumpy old lady came with 2 people, instead of say hello, said we have to pay to look inside. We of course paid the entrance fee for 2 adult and kid. After 10 minutes when the 2 otherpeoples finished to talking with her, she was bored and shouted we should go, because she was only came because of them! Why!? We also payed to come inside and see the church. She makes the magical atmospere poisonous with her behavior.
