Apoteka - Space for Contemporary Art is a flexible concept that works in the space of “in between” - different positions and ideas: as a project space, a gallery, an office, an active agent, focusing on presentation, exhibiting, research, development, understanding, promotion, communication, networking in the field of contemporary artistic practices, emerging artists, curating, research, innovative and creative culture. Apoteka is a project space, where different exhibition formats and a variety of artistic positions, practices and media are explored and made visible. It is a place for artistic and curatorial research and discussion. Apoteka is established in 2013 as an initiative by Matija Debeljuh (visual and film artist) and Branka Bencic (curator) in in the old town Vodnjan (Istra, Croatia) in the premises of an abandoned pharmacy, which is granted by a lease from Vodnjan Municipality City Council.

    bright spot in istrian contemporary art spaces
    nice little galerie in heart of Vodnjan with extremly interesting exibitions . last time it was artist matija debeljuh on july 28

    Proactiv
    Proactive, the art program in Gallery is intensive and too modern for the environment. I believe that such program enthusiasm should be rewarded through the financial support of public institutions and sponsors.
