Great place for trekking, bike, horseback tours, yurt camping in the mountains!
On August 31st 2016 we started our trek from Alakol eco centre in Jyrgalan village, Ysyk Kol province. We went for 2 nights, 3 days trekking. Jyrgalan village is situated just 60 km from Karakol town. Jyrgalan village is situated in valley at 2300 meters above sea level altitude. From May till late September you can hike to the mountains. You can go to the Turnaluu Kol lake, Tulpar Tash Rock, Kok Bel waterfalls. You can organize one day treks there by bicycles, horses. We went there for trekkings. We stayed in guest houses in Jyrgalan, had homemade meals and went for trekkings. You can go to Tulpar Tash Rock. On your way you will see edelweiss flower blossom if you come here in June, July. Highly recommended to visit Jyrgalan when you come to Kyrgyzstan!

    The best place in Kyrgyzstan!
Having travelled to Kyrgyzstan 4 times now, and Jyrgalan Valley twice, it really stands out as the best place we've visited in the country. The trekking is untouched and beautiful, the people are amazingly friendly and welcoming, and there are a whole bunch of new tourism products being developed such as horse riding, mountain biking and yurt stays. If you want to get off the beaten path, while not losing out on creature comforts such as hot water and wifi, this is the place to go!
