Wonderful cosy beach close to Mellieha.

Nice sandy beach close to Mellieha. We were at the beach between Mellieha city and Restautant Ventuno. In October it is not to crowded although the weather (during our stay) was 25 degrees plus! Sunny until 5.30 or 6PM. The first 15 to 20 metres of the sea are very shallow. Especially perfect for kids, disabled and older people. Mellieha tries to make beaches accessible for everyone. Between the rental beds and parasols area there is enough space to enjoy the beach with your own towel and parasol. This might be different during summer holiday season?! Bus stop is in front of the beach. Next year the absolete sidewalk along the bay will be transformed to a nice boulevard. Can't wait to see this transformation.

    Lovely beach! Great for kids!!
The best beach! We went there every morning to go swimming and I just love that there is sand as long as you can go out! It is not crowded at all early in the morning and still a lot of space in the afternoon. Both in water and on land. Nice and clean! We just love it!

Avoid if you don’t want to hear cars all day
The beach itself is quite nice. It’s nice and sandy, although it’s also very shallow and one has to walk/swim quite a bit to get do decent depth. The water quality in the morning was amazing — really clean and transparent. The beach infrastructure is also quite good — the sun beds and umbrellas were very nice (15 euros for the rental of 2 sun beds and an umbrella), and lots of cafes around. I went paddle boarding between the private boats in the deeper section and really enjoyed it. The rental was 12 euros for an hour. HOWEVER, one massive drawback of this beach is its location. It’s right next to a major road and the traffic noise is constant, with periodic guzzling noises from sport cars. That made it very difficult for us to relax. You have to have your earphones on the whole day — and even then it’s hard to block out the noise. Recommend more secluded beaches like Paradise Bay or Golden Bay if you want some quiet!
