Great Tour
We loved this tour! Jim was a great guide, and it was fun to hear from a biologist about the research being done. He was very knowledgeable in his field. It was so fun to be able to hold a seahorse- only place in the world!! (according to Jim) It is a bit steep pricewise for what it is, but I felt okay about spending money to further the research and breeding being done at the facility. Unfortunately the sea dragons were under quarantine while we were there, so we couldn’t see them!

Great for everyone
The goal of this place is to restore sea horses to the wild. To do that they are breeding a seahorse for captivity so wild horses don't need to be harvested for the pet trade. Wild seahorses only last in captivity for a very short time. This new breed will last for years in captivity, so the millions of seahorses captured for pets, will not have to be harvested from the wild. They are also breeding wild seahorses for reintroduction into the wild, to replenish the wild populations!
