Vieques National Wildlife Refuge and all visitor facilities is closed due to impacts from Hurricane Irma. Refuge closures include all hiking trails, boat ramps, fishing access, and other recreational use on refuge lands. The closure remains in effect until the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service assesses storm damage and has determined it is safe for visitor access.

    best beach we were able to go
    This was the best beach we could go to because of the bomb in the water. To get here you need to rent the jeeo taxi to get here. It's real worth it to come here since not many car rentals and most taxis cant get to it. I went snorkeling didn't see nothing but a huge ass turtle and a bunch of starfish. Still go snorkeling you can get away from you wife for a bit and enjoy peace and quiet

    Great beach, beautiful water
    Not sure how it works year around but this beach had everything while we were there. Beautiful (and warm) water, great sand, and a constant breeze. Go to one of the early entries for a little more privacy (and less cover) or down to entry 10 or 11 for a few more beach goers, some palm trees for cover, and even a few picnic stations (but get there before 10am for any of those). We had a great breeze at all the stops but take an umbrella either way.
