    Wonderful Trustees property
This land is owned and maintained by the Trustees of Reservations. There is an extensive system of hiking trails which used to be carriage paths. One can discover historic plaques and a granite column from an old Harvard College Library. It is dog friendly and a great birding area as well.

Like being lost in a Hansen and Gretel story...
Appleton farms has many parts to it. One part that is great for off the leash dog walking or cross country skiing is the grass rides. Check out the regulations for dogs off leash at the the Appleton Farms website. I'm noticing more and more poison ivy here so be careful where you go. The areas with more sun seem to have the plant growing there.
