Great park in city center.
This was a great find! We'd had lunch at Americana across the street, and wanted to give the kids a chance to let off some steam while we settled the bill, especially as we had been driving all day (Des Moines was just a stop for us from Nebraska to Wisconsin). We had seen the park across the street, so I took them over and it was really great - the kids loved running around, exploring the art pieces (they especially loved the color wheel and the man made of letters) and rolling down the hills. It was my first time in Des Moines and I was impressed with how nice the city was.

Downtown adventure
I appreciated the open concept of the park and I liked the option to call in to get the audio tour, go on the website, or download the app as it was easy to get the information on the sculpture. The hard part was telling the kids some of them you could touch, some you couldn’t. Also, there was some sort of event going on as there were a lot of people coming dressed up to take pictures so it turned into alot of dodging picture sessions
