    Fun night in Iowa
We attended the Iowa State Fair on the last night. Most displays and animals were gone. It was still fun to walk around, except that it was so hot! The venue is very nice and well kept. The rides seemed to be very popular. There were still many food vendors which our group enjoyed. We had picked this night, because we had tickets to The Doobie Brothers 50th Anniversary Concert tour. The sound was a little jumbled, which made it difficult to make out some of the lyrics, but we thoroughly enjoyed the concert. It started about 45 mins. late, but ran for 2 1/2 hrs., including the encore. We liked the fact that our seats in the grandstand allowed us to sit for the performance and we had great views of the stage and screens. A fun night!

    iowa state fair
came to iowa to see the fair and a concert . being from minnesota i know what a great fair is and i'm not going to compare the two just tell you what i think about yours . easy to get to,easy to park we paid 20 dollars one block from gate but most parking was 10 dollars , fair is big but easy to get around , clean , and most vendors had normal lines . fair food is fair food we tried and shared lots of items , loved them all and didn't think the prices were to high , drank lots of beer and liked the beer halls , the free music and people watching . two in our group don't drink beer so maybe some better choices would have been nice, local wine or spirts . grandstand and the concert were great(Doobie Brothers). but the thing we all took away from our day at the fair is how nice the people of iowa are ! thank you for a great experience .
