    Memorable Museum
I had the pleasure to visit The Nautical Museum Sami last April when it had newly opened and revisited in August this year as I was interested to see the latest addition of The Titanic to the existing collection of hand made wooden vessels. The creator of these beautiful scale models is the dedicated work of one man, over the past 10 years, Mr Sotiris Marketos, and he’s usually at the museum on hand to show visitors around the models and answer questions. Would really recommend a visit, it’s a very memorable little museum and well worth the small entry fee. There are lots of other popular sights and beaches nearby to tag on to a visit - the Museum is a minute drive away from Odysseus Land, and Sami Port, Antisamos Beach, Drogarati Cave and Melissani Lake are all a just short drive away.

Each ship like a personal friend
What a wonderful experience it was to visit this museum. I would give more stars than five if it was available here! The artist who hand crafted all these beautiful exhibits (Mr Marketos the elder) gave me a detailed tour and never tired of answering my dozens of questions. I got the impression that each boat / ship is like a personal friend to him - and don't we all delight in telling nice stories about our friends. I learned a lot about the workings of steering, compass, sails, cranes, etc, and about the process of building them. Thank you so much to both father and son for this memorable visit!
