Myrtos Beach, Ionian Islands, Greece

Stunning beach.

Surrounded by tall marble cliffs and looking out onto the azure waters of the Myrtos Gulf, this stunning beach makes for a dramatically breathtaking sight. A steep and winding stretch of road will take you there—stop on your way to admire the view and catch the pink and orange hues at sunset on your way back. Get in early to secure both a place to park and a prime spot on the sand; the water tends to be at its calmest in the morning too. There are changing rooms and toilet facilities, a beach bar, and a few sunbeds and umbrellas you can rent. – Tripadvisor

    Wow what a view
This beach is picture post card stuff you see pictures of clear blue sea on a white beach and this beach beats it hands down. Very small beach and I would assume that peak season you can't move for tourists. They were building a beach bar to open shortly. Word of warning the drive down to the beach isn't for the faint hearted and there is no shade so lots of suncream for us white bits

Stunning beach and beautifully clear water to snorkel in
We hired a car and drove there from Skala after visiting mellisani cave. Stunning views as you drive down to it. Looks deceptively like white sand but it’s actually pebbles. Cars park all along the road that winds down to the beach. I would recommend that you drive right to the bottom then start from there to find a space as there are people coming and going all the time. I would highly recommend buying a parasol from the shop in the little town at the top before you drive down (around €13) as there is no shade unless you hire a sunbed. We just wanted to snorkel and had beach shoes with us so when we reached the rocks it was easy to clamber around. Spent a wonderful couple of hours snorkelling around the rocks in the beautifully scenic bay.
