A place with a love history

A small place that some people may dont have to much interest to visit but they don't know the beauty that this tomb save，with wild flowers and grasses grow in abundance, creating a beautiful natural picture together with the towering green trees and the love of Wang Zhaojun and her husband，very recommend to visit.

Very Hot Day
Wang Zhaojun’s tomb, (A big hill), surrounded by a modern museum, parkland and other buildings. So, this place is down near the Southern border of the city, so don’t expect taxi’s or Didi’s nearby for quick access. Go early in the day, so you can snag someone’s taxi/Didi, go early before it gets too hot, the place is wide open, outside of the Museums, there are not many places to get out of the sun. It’s essentially a huge park with a giant tomb, (Hill) in the centre, when we were there, you were not allowed to climb the hill. The Museums are well done, you learn how Zhaojun is responsible for helping unite the Han people with the Xiongnu Empire into a mutually beneficial relationship. However, with very little English. If you have the time and are interested in Chinese historical stories then make the trip.

Hohhot's oldest historical site
This site is just over 10 miles from Hohhot and is dedicated to Zhaojun who is famous for marrying a tribal chief and bringing peace among the nationalities. You can climb to the top of the earthen pyramid built above her grave and view the farmland around the site. There is also a museum on the site, which houses copies of original bronze pieces found in the area. Also a tea room with regular bell ringing performances. We just missed a performance as we ended our tour at the tea room, and it was too long to wait until the next performance, so I would recommend that you check out the times at the start of your tour.
