Russia just across the river

Went to Shiwei during early June. It wasn't crowded yet but I saw a lot of new hotels/guesthouse/Inn were built to accommodate the travelling peak period in July. So sadly this town has became a tourist town. Nevertheless, the town was still very beautiful. Lots of Russian style wooden houses. Me and my friend stayed at "Guo Li zhi jia" (果力之家). The guesthouse was owned by a Chinese-russian lady. Their house was about 5-7mins walk away from the town sqaure. The room we stayed overlook the river. The owner will cook for you Russian dishes for a small price. Took a walk around town at night and there were a lot of vendors selling "shao kao" (烧烤) which was bbq food.

    Interesting place
    The people here seem to be of mixed race with eurasian looks. The food was good though and prices very reasonable. However did not have much time to wander about too much. Only Downside was the rooms were freezing in the place we stayed and we had to go to the local police station to register our visit. Otherwise quite tolerable
