Nice campgrounds

Patoka Lake State Park is a nice place for a relaxing time away from the daily stresses. We've been going to Patoka Lake camping for about 15 years. They have some really nice hiking trails and some of the most extensive paved walking/biking paths within the park. During 2020, I think the staff who clean the comfort stations are doing a pretty good job of keeping things clean. I smelled a faint smell of bleach one day after they had cleaned. There is hand soap in the restrooms so you can wash your hands. (oddly enough, not all parks have hand soap in the past because I have been calling, speaking with the directory on the INDNR for years requesting it in all facilities. One would have thought that the IN SB of H would have required it. Perhaps this year, with COVID-19, perhaps it has pushed the state to finally place them in all facilities???) There is a place that you can rent boats. Simply put, a lot of activities for all ages and interests to do.

Very Pretty lake and state park
We were staying in French Lick, saw a brochure on this lake and took a drive there to see if it was something that we would like to come back to another time. It is very pretty and a lovely drive around it. It's a state park, so you have to pay to enter if you want to go in to enjoy the lake, go to picnic areas, use the boat ramps or even the beach. There is an area too that has a marina that you can rent boats or stay on a house boat. It's very pretty there and the beach is very nice too. Not sure if we will be back to use our boat though because we could see alot of sandbars in the water. If we knew the lake it might be ok because we did see ski boats out there, but saw more pontoon boats. Looks very nice for a family to spend the day together though.
