Lieber State Recreation Area, more than a park
This park has so much to offer! We come here often for boating, picnicking, recreation. It is a nice clean park with plenty of shelters and picnic tables. There are several ramps to launch boats, a pool and a sandy beach. There are playgrounds, basketball goals, horseshoes and grassy areas for football, soccer or just relaxing. The camping areas are also nice although like most parks tend to fill up on major holiday weekends. Also check ahead of time because the lake does flood in the spring and early summer sometimes making the beach area inaccessible. Close to the park are the spillway area below the dam with another playground and picnic areas and Cataract Falls.

Solid Beach Visit at Cagles Mill Lake
We enjoyed a nice short visit to the beach at Cagles Mill Lake. Beach is a bit rocky so be prepared for that if you are not going to be in the water. There is no lifeguard and the swimming area is clearly marked. The beach is inside Lieber State Recreation Area which itself has plenty of open space to roam but not many marked trails. There are plenty of picnic spaces. Nice visit here can be connected with a short drive to Cataract Falls to see some cool waterfalls.

The lake is filling in. It is sad.
Unfortunately it is getting harder to navigate on the lake. Many places are getting too shallow to take a boat through. DNR will not keep the lake level high enough or dredge what needs cleaned out. Otherwise, it is a very clean lake; not too busy and a great place to ski, fish and just relax.
