Quirky Stop Along Route 66
This two-cell jail is one of the attractions along the old Route 66 path. It’s located in the downtown area of Gardner, which isn’t too hard to find if you follow the Route 66 signs. We initially had some trouble, however, since some GPS addresses will take you to an alternate location near the edge of town. The building for the jail is very small, since it only has the two cells and a small area in front of them for the guards that would have watched over any inmates. The jail is well-maintained if not overly clean. The front door was open at the time of our visit, and there was a prerecorded message that provided information about the location and its history. Worth checking out if you’re passing through the area. There were also a couple other nearby attractions as well.

Route 66 Point of Interest.
The Two Cell Jail is in a little park next to a display of an old dinner. It's a great Route 66 stop. The jail door was open and there is a push button recording that tells you all about it. It's a great photo op.
