Great Public Course
The Highlands is a perfect course whether you are a serious golfer or not. It can be challenging but also forgiving. The grounds and course are very well kept and maintained. It can be very scenic for a Midwest course. You will have no regrets playing The Highlands.

Amazing
The course is very challenging and very beautiful when playing. Having grown up in Elgin, it was a pleasant surprise to find this course. It is just a great playing experience. It is made for the average player which we all are at heart. You leave this course with a good feeling.

Very well maintained Course and pleasant Staff
I played here for the first time today. The course was in very nice shape and the fairways are greens were firm even after a few rain storms the prior couple of days. This is a links course built in an old rock quarry. Nice layout and looks easier than it plays. The green complexes are undulating but fair. Really liked the electric golf carts and the GPS in the cart is very accurate to the front, back and to the pin yardages and an iPad touch to point to spots in the hole for intermediate distances to traps, water etc.... Staff was very nice and welcoming. I called in advance as a single and was able to get out with a group. I will be back to play.
