Outdoor patio

Had late morning breakfast on patio. Good food, service and beautiful setting. The menu was comprehensive and the prices were very reasonable.

    A solid challenge
Played the Glen Club Golf Course recently. It has been a few years since I played here but now I am regretting not putting the Glen Club on my regular summer circuit. The course is terrific. I can see why the course is regularly rated as one of the top 5 courses in Illinois and in the top 100 courses you can play by Golf Magazine. About 6600 yards from the Blue tees the course has an interesting combination of long par 5's and 4's mixed with a few quite short par 4's. The greens are generous but not easy. Lot's of water and fescue to penalize errant shots so the 135 slope and 72.8 course rating from the Blue tees is well-deserved. The course personnel did a great job with service on arrival and departure and everything in between. The club house is impressive and includes a small but well appointed pro-shop and a terrific club restaurant. The green fees are a little steep for Chicago, particularly for October. Nevertheless, I will find a reason to play TGC more regularly in the future.

    One-of-a-kind experience
First of all, you have to get over the price. $150. Besides that, it is the top golf destination in Illinois. It is ranked number 64 (i think) in the nation, and boasts many other qualities. The course is a masterpiece and holds the Lasalle Bank Open annualy. The fairways and greens are very smooth and every hole is a whole new challenge. The winds change, the slopes are varied, and the par is different. Beautiful landscape with many bunkers, a few ponds, and a good view of the Glen. Be sure to hire a caddy adn book in advance because it is always packed. You should definitely enjoy!
