Don't waste your time
I want the readers to understand that I have submitted lots of reviews and have lots more to enter. In all of those occasions, I have submitted only one negative review. The website refers to ithe course as the best hidden secret of central Illinois. It needs to stay a secret. Do not waste your time, money or wear and tear on your car trying to get there. My husband and I went there because we received the Golf Central Illinois Tour Card as a gift. For a flat fee, the card provides for free green fees at multiple courses. Per the written terms of the card and the website, a few courses require the purchase of a cart. Swan Creek is not one of them. We arrived and the cards were presented. The owner/manager told me that it would be $30.00. I told him that we did not want a golf cart and that we were walking. He told me that I had to pay the $30.00. I showed him the terms of the card. Nonetheless, he refused to allow us to play unless we paid the cart fee even though we walking. The best part of this is that he punched our tour card as if we played even though we did not. I walked out of the " clubhouse" ( I use that term loosely) and the owner/ manager followed me out and started to talk to my husband. Not sure why, but the whole thing was completely rude and unprofessional. He is trying to collect fees that he cannot require. We have been to other courses on the card, and none of them have expected payment or cart rental. According to the tour card Facebook site, he is doing this to other card holders as well. From what we saw of the course, it is not worth playing. Do not go here.

Absolutely Ridiculous
After checking in, we find out it's the pro shop employee's first day and is clueless where the first tee is to be found. Two additional workers that came in were very specific showing us the first tee. Since there were NO markings we were unaware we had started on hole 13. Complicating things further was that we were unable to find ANY markers until we gave up and headed back to pro shop. #1 was nowhere near where we were told. If you go, play 9 since those seem to be the only holes marked. Not only is it out where Jesus lost his sandals, you'd likely be better off taking the $50 and throwing it out the window! No return visit scheduled EVER!
