Great statue with plenty of free parking on the nearby streets. Several shops nearby have the Superman theme going. Visit the Lois Lane statue a few blocks away too! The nearby museum even has an old car and a phone booth for photos.

Fun suprise.
We stopped in this small town with little expectations. The superman statue in front of the city hall was really cool. The museum, though small and a bit unorganized was full of really fun memorabilia. We especially love the George Reeves superman stuff. Brought back fond memories.

NICE QUICK TOURIST STOP
I made a Quick stop in Metropolis, Illinois which bills itself as the Hometown of Superman. My First top was at the 15-foot tall Superman Statue that stand on the Town Square. Metropolis is a small town and we was plenty of free on street parking all around the Statue. There are a number of business scattered throughout the downtown area that embrace the Superman theme. During my visit there were a few other tourist at the statue and we all waited our turn to take the required selfie. Once you finish at the Superman Statue, be sure to walk a couple of block north to the and grab your selfie at the Lois Lane Statue. Also directly across from the Superman Statue is the Superman Gift Shop and Museum that is well worth a quick visit. All total I spent about an hour walking around the small downtown area. It was a unique and very enjoyable stop.
