A nice place to take a walk

This was a very nice park to take a walk along their trails. The path is wide enough to have a dividing line down the center so that traffic can go both ways. A good portion of the outer trail is in the shade. There are a few non-paved trails off of the main loop that we did not explore. Look at a map prior to going to be sure you know where you will be turning to get back to the park. It is a residential street with a small sign indicating to turn there. It would be lovely to live in that neighborhood and have such a park just down the street. There is also a playground and plenty of parking available.

    Peaceful and Scenic
Of all the parks in O'Fallon, IL, I love this medium sized park! I regularly go there of walks or ride on my Trikke! Certain portions of the walking paths are totally shaded by trees which gives a nice break from too much sun. There is a dog park in the far eastern end of the park. Even though I don't have a dog, I like the placement of the dog area. It is a perfect place for an early Sunday morning walk or evening stroll. It never seems to be too busy unless there is a function or event there. If there is, parking can be tight!

    Peaceful Park
This is a peaceful park that is located in the middle of town yet it does not feel like you're in the middle of town. It has lots of trees and greenery. It has two paved walking paths that circle a native grass area; an outer path that is 1 mile long and and inner path that is 1/2 mile long. There are some unpaved paths that go back into the woods surrounding the park. There is a pavilion with picnic tables and a playground. There is also a fire pit that can be rented with a permit. They have a nature center which can be rented for special events. Otherwise, the nature center is not open. There are restroom facilities located right next to the pavilion and playground. The park has an enclosed Dog Park with a double-gate where you can take your dogs and let them play off-leash. Although this is a popular park for people to go running or walking, it has never felt crowded any of the times I have been there over the years.
