Rochelle Railroad park
It's an interesting and relaxing way to spend a day. Trains just take your mind off everything; they're so powerful, and such a testament to human engineering genius and hard work. They move the country's goods and millions of people daily, and our railroads should be appreciated much more than they are, and this is a way to both grow in that appreciation and spend a day freeing up your mind in the presence of a world apart from what most of us do each day. I just love trains!

lazy afternoon
two double tracks crossing. more trains rumble through than you can shake a stick at! we just stopped by because i've lived near Rochelle & had never heard of it. what a shame. the park is what it is. a place for observing trains. but a quick stop reveals so much more. there's a covered elevated platform with picnic tables a gift shop. restrooms a small engine for the very young to play on. a very nice place for a picnic. but the best offering is the people there were upwards of fifthty people there watching trains, taking photos, and videos. one word of caution, there are no fences between you & the four busy tracks. so watch your children & have a fun day!
