Well worth a visit
River Hawk Brewing in Channahon is a beautiful brewery/taproom. The tables are shiny and beautifully decorated. The taproom has a nice TV viewing area, and outdoor seating is also available. I had a flight of four taster beers and enjoyed all of them; the Oatmeal Stout was outstanding. I also had a sample sip of the Honey Wheat - that one was pretty flat and insipid. No food is served at the brewery but food trucks visit the place occasionally or one can bring in food from outside. Ample parking is available. River Hawk Brewing is well worth the visit for tasting craft beers. The place also produces wines.

Friendly People, Good Beer
Been there twice now and both visits have been great. Had some good beers and nice conversation with Dustin, one of the Owner's. I'll make it a point to stop when I'm in the area againg.

Below Average Beer
Went there last Saturday and the place was packed. A couple of birthday parties and a live band. Nice to see a live band, but the acoustics were terrible. Under staffed meant long waits to get marginal beers. Yellow Jacket Honey Beer tasted like flat lemonade, Trevor's Mild was also flat and tasteless. The blueberry pancake beer was undrinkable, Gaber Cream ale was just okay. I ended up drinking a somewhat palatable IPA. Not sure why this place was so busy...maybe there is nothing else to do in Channahon???. Also, this is the first brewery I have been to that charges tax in addition to the pint price. All others roll it in. So a $6 pint is actually $6.50 Totally not worth it. I would have at least liked to have said " don't go out of your way, but if in the area, check it out" But I can't even say that.
