Go early and take Richardson road!

Wow get there early. Plan to even arrive before 11am. We got there exactly at 11am on Sunday and there's already a line of cars and tons of people in the garden. Also, get there via Richardson road (so you turn right into the property) inside of via Wilmot road (where you have to turn left). Seems like everyone is coming from Wilmot road and as we left we saw the poor 1 lane road backed up for miles in both directions. Don't get hung up at the start of the fields where they have tulips available for picking. Walk further inwards and it's a bit less crowded. We had a great time and it was a beautiful day. Picking out the free tulips was really fun! Too bad wasn't hungry because there was a ton of food trucks! The staff was really courteous and competent at directing traffic.

GREAT DAY IN THE OUTDOORS WITH LOTS OF FUN ACTIVITIES
The Hubby and I spent a beautiful Fall afternoon at Richardson Farm. Richardson Farm (RF) is home to the "World's Largest Corn Maze"! This was my 2nd time and the Hubby's 1st time. Each year RF has a different "theme". This Year it was celebrating Earth Day which is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary. There are 24 check points located in the maze. Once you find the check point, you punch a hole in your Map Card. It looks like it would be easy but, once you enter the maze, you are surrounded by tall corn stalks. There are 3 bridges located in the Maze which will give you an overall view of just how large the Maze is. There are TONS of things to do at RF: hop aboard for a train ride, jump on giant trampolines, hayrides, pumpkins, fudge and kettle corn to buy. You can enjoy a caramel apple sundae while sipping a hot chocolate or munch on an apple donut. Do not miss the squealing pig races, they are so cute!!! This can be a few hours of activity or an all day event. I recommend staying the entire day to soak up the sun and breathe fresh air :) P.S. Wear comfy shoes and layers of clothing. Temperature can fluctuate. RF is open Thursday - Sunday. We bought our tickets online. There is no charge for parking. We did wear our masks and practiced social distancing. The Maze is open late however, it does get dark so, bring your flashlights. We prefer daytime

TIP TOE THRU THE TULIPS IN ILLINOIS ;)
Each Fall, Richardson Adventure Farm located in Spring Grove, Il offers the World's Largest Corn Maze along with dozens of additional activities. For the first time in 2021, they opened their gates April 22nd to a TULIP FEST! ??? Over 300,000 Tulips and 30 varieties were planted in the Fall. You can purchase tickets online or at the entrance. M- F tickets are $12 per person and includes 1 complimentary tulip. Sat -Sun, $15 and one complimentary tulip. The Hubby and I went this past Friday to explore the 5 acres of colorful Tulips and we were not disappointed. There are food trucks with snacks and drinks onsite. It is dog friendly but, leashes are a requirement. If you want to check out the Tulips, it is only for a short time as they will begin to wilt mid-May. Enjoy! ~PAM TIP #1: Wear layers of clothing if the weather is iffy, it was a little bit chilly with the wind blowing. TIP #2: Wear flat shoes and watch where you walk. This is a former Farmer's field, so lots of large divets!!!
